Mountain Village 1890, Bull Shoals, Arkansas

An E-Tour of Mountain Village 1890

The Depot  The Martin House  The Bank  The Doctor's Office
The General Store  Uncle Willie's Cabin  The Flying Jenny
The School House  The Jail  The Jordan House
The Blacksmith and Coffin Shop
  The Lynch-Flippin House  The Church

There are 11 main historic structures in Mountain Village 1890 and numerous additional outbuildings and smaller things to see, all of which have been brought here from various sites in the Ozark mountain region. Some of the buildings were brought intact from as far away as 125 miles, and one from only a few blocks distant. All of the buildings are authentic, as are their contents – and all were being used in 1890.

In addition to the main buildings, notice the other things around the village green, including the following:

The rails for the fence surrounding the church yard were split by Indians in 1828. They originally separated the Wolf House in Norfork, Arkansas, from the northeast corner of the Cherokee Nation. Almost 400 rails were moved to the Village. The rocks acting as grave stones in the cemetery are plain stones, not real markers.

You'll see miniature horses, miniature donkeys, ducks and rabbits around the village.

Notice the sawmill in the center of the square, as well as the still,  which belonged to Manferd Long and was found in Bull Shoals Caverns in 1958.
